Happy 8th Birthday Brendan!

Christmas 2002 (I love this picture!)

Christmas 2008

Today is my sweet boy's birthday. Time sure does fly...Brendan was born on Friday March 30th at 5:13 PM by c-section. He weighed 6 lbs 12 oz. and was 19 in long.

Today he weighs 50 lbs. (light weight!) and is 52 inches tall. He loves soccer and riding his rip stick (kind like a skate board). He is doing great in second grade and he is truly a wonderful child. He is so compassionate and caring. God has blessed Brent and I with a precious boy and Chase with a loving big brother. We love you Brendan!

Spring Break Praise

As most of you know, Brendan was supposed to have ear surgery over spring break to close a hole that he's had since July of last year. We've known about the hole for a while and the doctor has been monitoring it but said it was not an emergency to close and it has not interfered with his hearing so we elected to wait until spring break to do it. Well, we prepared Brendan as much as we could and went in for his pre-op appointment on March 5th. His surgery was scheduled for March 11th. The doctor was surprised but said that finally the ear looked to be healing on its own. Brendan said, "It's a miracle!" This was exactly what Brent and I and many others were praying for and it was a miracle! God is so good to us even though we don't deserve it. I just wanted to keep everyone up to date and share our wonderful praise.

Happy 13th Anniversary!

December 29th was our 13th wedding anniversary. We either got married very young or are just old...I will let you guess. I just wanted to let everyone know that God has blessed me with a wonderful husband, Dad for our children, and a best friend.

Christmas at Home

This Christmas was at our house. Granny, PaPa, Aunt Candice, Uncle Nick, and Gaven came over for breakfast and then of course we opened presents. That afternoon the rest of the family came for lunch.

Christmas w/Grandma and PePaw and Uncle Justin

After we left Weatherford, we headed over to have Christmas with Grandma, PePaw, and Uncle Justin in Fort Worth. We had a great time and enjoyed the special visit. PePaw and Grandma put up Christmas lights for the boys even though he had knee surgery just a couple weeks prior.

Christmas at Last! (at least w/Granddaddy, Gram & Uncle Stan)

We went to Weatherford and Fort Worth the weekend before Christmas. Gram and Granddaddy treated all of us to see the ballet "The Nutcracker". This is the first time my children have gone to something this sophisicated and I was very impressed with their behavior. We all really enjoyed the show and feel very blessed with our "First" Christmas with Gram, Granddaddy, and Uncle Stan.

Our sweet Rex

It has been a long time since I have posted a blog...Lots of excuses but really I have been very busy. One sad event that has happened in the last two months is that we lost our sweet dog Rex. We got Rex in June 1996 when he was 6 weeks old. We sure do miss him and think about him every day. We love you Rex.
